Flockbay/FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Get familiar with Flockbay and how it works.

Do I need to install Godot?

No. Install the Flockbay Windows app and it will prepare the game engine foundation and local game-building tools it needs.

Can I use an existing Godot project?

Yes. When you start a chat, choose the folder that contains your Godot project. Flockbay will inspect it before making changes.

Which computers do you support?

Flockbay currently supports Windows PCs for the desktop app, local preview, and exported game builds.

What do I need to install?

Just the Flockbay Windows app. It runs from your system tray, connects your computer to the web app, and handles local previews and builds.

Do I need game development experience?

No. Flockbay is designed for people who want to describe a game idea, play the result, and keep asking for changes in plain language.

Can I open the project myself?

Yes. Flockbay works with real project files, so you can inspect the project outside Flockbay whenever you want.

What kind of game should I start with?

Start small: one character, one level, one clear objective, and one or two core mechanics. Flockbay works best when you preview often and build in steps.

Do you include asset packs?

No. You choose the art, audio, models, and other assets you want to use. Flockbay can help organize and wire them into your project.

What is Director 1?

Director 1 is Flockbay's AI game builder. It uses 20+ focused game-building tools to inspect your project, make changes, run previews, and show completed steps.

How do I redownload the installer?

Go to the dashboard. If your computer is already connected, open the Connected menu and choose Download installer. If no computer is connected yet, use Download Flockbay or the setup guide.

Are there usage limits?

Yes. Each plan includes a set amount of Director 1 usage. The pricing page shows what is included before you choose a plan.

Who owns the game and IP?

You do. Your game idea, project files, and assets remain yours.
